Gossip Girl’s queen bitch, Leighton Meester, has quite the interesting childhood story that she probably never intended to get out. I’m not sure why, because it has bad-ass written all over it, but check it out.
When Leighton was born, on April 9 1986, her mother was serving time for drug running, meaning Leighton was born behind the prison walls. Her mother was allowed to stay in a half way house until July of that summer, 3 months after the baby was born, before she had to head back to serve out the rest of her time. At that point, Leighton was raised by a family member.
Not only that, but her grandfather, father, and aunt also all served time in federal prison for drug dealing Star Magazine is reporting.
So I wonder why she chose acting over keeping the family business going? hmmm.
