By now you’ve all seen the pictures floating around from Jessica Simpson’s latest performance at some Texas chili cook-off where she looks like she may have gained a couple in the mid section.
In her defense, the photos are taken from an upward angle which does tend to make you look bigger than straight on or from up above, (it’s myspace photo physics ya’ll) but hasn’t she even admitted to gaining a little bit saying that boyfriend Tony Romo likes her just the way she is? Plus high waisted jeans and a double belt tight around the mid section is a huge risk if you don’t have a stick figure.
Anyways, little sister Ashlee took to her myspace blog to defend her sisters honor last night, and of course, she played the “historic election” card. Sorry Ash, a new President is going to do things like try and help the economy, try and end the war, not make people stop calling other people fat. Inauguration is over, let’s get over it already.
Ashlee had this to say,
I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News
All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.
Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend?
I seriously doubt it.
How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?
Now can we focus on the things that really matter.
