Jessica Simpson’s rep is trying to spin reports that she’s been dropped by her record label for a flopped country career.
It was first suggested last week that she had been dropped by Sony Nashville, and her name had been removed from all of the labels websites and artist lists.
While her rep has confirmed Jessica has pulled the plug on her country career, it wasn’t be cause they dropped her. The Simpson camp is claiming to UsWeekly that she was just a loaner to Sony Nashville, and both parties decided to not further the deal due to a lackluster country music release.
Her country debut, Do You Know, sold less than 200,000 copies.
What could be next for Jessica? She’s tried it all now. Pop, country, reality tv, marriage… All failures.
