Dominick Dunne Dead at 83

dunne2

Sorry for the double shot of bummer death news, readers. Dominick Dunne, the novelist/journalist/diarist/columnist who specialized in the intersection of celebs and felony, has died at 83 of complications from bladder cancer.

Dominick was best known for his extensive reporting on the trials of the Menendez brothers and OJ Simpson, in addition to his successful novels. In later years, he wrote a column for Vanity Fair that detailed both his thoughts on legal issues of the day and his glitzy social life.

His final work, the novel Too Much Money, will be published in December.

This is such sad news. Dominick Dunne was an original who was not only elegant but scrappy, direct and genuine. I loved everything he did – his courtroom reporting, novels, VF articles and TruTv specials. I am going to miss him and his wonderful work.
