Simon Cowell Lobbying For Cheryl Cole To Get Her Job Back

Lots of fallout on the set of the US X-Factor, where Cheryl Cole was fired as judge just weeks ago, with rumors ranging from Simon Cowell firing her, to producers firing her because of her heavy British accent.

It appears that due to some American contestants not being able to understand her critiques, she was let go from the show and has since returned to the UK.

Cole has not spoken out since the news broke, and neither has Cowell.

A rep for Simon Cowell recently said in a statement, “Simon’s position is clear – he wants her to be on the show if that’s possible. The reason Simon hasn’t said anything is because he has been working to try and make sure she is on the show.”

“But obviously there’s other important people involved in this decision in America and they’ve all got to be happy. Hopefully the situation will be clarified as soon as possible, because it’s been as clear as mud for the last week – but talking to him a couple of hours ago, I think that’s a pretty fair summary of where we are.”

“It’s not a good publicity stunt and you don’t need it. When you’ve got such a hot show and so much at stake you really don’t need (this) because if it looks as if there’s a weak link or problems, it doesn’t excite and have the desired effect. Right now the last thing Cheryl Cole would have wanted would have been all of this.”

According to multiple reports here in the US,  Nicole Sherzinger is the next in line to step in as judge if Cole is not reinstated, as she was already signed on to be the show’s host.
