Film Executives Release Statement After Tragic Death Of Fan Outside Of Comic-Con

 

A 53-year-old woman died on Tuesday after being hit by a car crossing the street to take her spot in line for a “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2” panel at Comic-Con set for Thursday.

The tragic incident happened when the woman tripped into traffic while attempting to stop and let a car pass on a San Diego street outside of the convention.

Movie bosses behind the Twilight franchise have issued a statement offering their condolences to the family of the woman, who has only been identified as Gisela G.

A statement from Lionsgate, and Summit read: “Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.”

The final film in the popular franchise, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” hits theaters November 16.
