The third season of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ kicked off last week, so why are there already talks of replacing two of the coaches for next season?
It’s being reported that Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will not participate in Season 4 of the show, set to air in Spring 2013, so that they can resume their music careers.
In an official press release, Aguilera was quoted saying, “Since this year NBC and The Voice have decided to tape back-to-back seasons, requiring a full-year commitment, it is important for me to take season four off, allowing me to support my music that my fans have been waiting for.”
Green will also be taking a season off, in order to fulfill some other obligations, including a residency in Las Vegas, and a new show deal with NBC to write his own show(s).
According to new reports online, the replacement coaches for season 4 of ‘The Voice’ will be Shakira and Usher, who will join Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton, who will be staying put.
It would appear X-Tina and Cee-Lo will be back for season 5 for sure, with Green saying in the same press release, “I will be back for season five.”
