Madonna was showered with boos during a concert in New Orleans on Saturday night after she called on fans to vote for Barack Obama in the upcoming election.
After asking those in attendance who was registered to vote, Madonna told the crowd, “I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.”
According to multiple reports online and via social media, those remarks caused the crowd to respond with boos, with some even opting to walk out of the show.
Once she realized she might have been playing the POTUS up to the wrong crowd, she added, “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for… Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”
Louisiana is one of the states that is projected to go in favor of Barack Obama’s challenger Mitt Romney on November 6.
The always controversial Donald Trump took to his own Twitter page to remark about the Madonna show, saying, “Many people walked out on Madonna’s concert when she told them to vote for Obama. Years ago I walked out because the concert was terrible!”
