Slumdog Adds to Award Collection.

Slumdog Millionaire had another award winning weekend in the weeks leading up to the Oscars.

Director Danny Boyle took home the top award at the Director’s Guild of America’s annual award ceremony.

In what’s usually a bit of a hint as to what could happen on Oscar night, Boyle beat out some star directors such as Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), David Fincher (Ben Buttons), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight).

For his acceptance, Boyle joked;

“I should start by curiously thanking Warner Bros for actually having the grace to do the right thing, when I think it would have been a lot easier to do the wrong thing, and pass the film on to Fox Searchlight, who are an extraordinary bunch of people. To step into the shoes of people like the Coen brothers, it’s phenomenal. I have stolen from them all my career, in a naked and appalling way.”

Here are some photos from the DGA awards that include  Ron Howard, Keith Middlebrook, Conrad Nathan Folks, Dev Patel, Frieda Pinto, and Anil Kapoor.
