Disney will acquire Marvel comics in a deal worth $4 billion. The purchase will give Disney access to over 5,000 characters, including Spiderman, Iron Man, and the X-Men (besides other ____ Man characters).
Disney will be able to make any comic book hero into a movie without worrying about obtaining the rights. This will likely mean more comic book movies! Oy vey.
Marvel shareholders and an anti-trust review will need to approve before the move goes forward, but both companies have already OK’ed the purchase.
