British Politicians: “Regulate Photoshop. Save The Kids.”

britneywtf12

What’s glossy, colorful, and supposedly harmful to little children?

A photoshopped image of Britney Spears? According to British politicians – yes!

A group of Liberal Democrats claim that the art (and we use the term loosely: see above) of photoshopped advertising has become a dangerous phenomenon that is being used to deceive consumers, specifically children.

Case in point: A recent magazine cover of 59 year-old former supermodel Twiggy. Pictures of the photoshopped Twiggy resembled nothing of the actual Twiggy. The politicians want The Advertising Standards Authority to officially indicate if images have been airbrushed.

Wouldn’t that require pretty much every image to carry a disclaimer? How about one for images that HAVEN’T been painted?!
