The White Stripes Try For a Guinness World Record

The White Stripes recently played a concert in which they played only one note, an E, the entire time. They had hoped that they would be entered into the Guinness World Record book for their effort, but Guinness decided a one-note concert wasn’t worthy of their book.

As part of their Canadian tour, the White Stripes pledged to play a show in every province, but worried they could not do a full set in St. John they put on the one-note concert. Over 1,200 people showed up- knowing it would just be a single note played the entire time.

If it doesn’t make it into the Guinness World Record Book, it just doesn’t seem to matter. It just means The White Stripes wasted their time and the time of the Canadian people of St. John.
