8 years worth of re-runs and totally worth the wait. 90210 premiered last night to big numbers! Just how good did it do? Follow me.
The new age version of the hit 90’s television show’s two-hour premiere was viewed by almost 5 million people! (4.9) and got a 2.6 rating among adults ages 18-40.
As far as the actual show? Probably the best two hours of television I’ve seen in a very long time. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but they did hit it out of the park.
Critics have been slamming it, calling it a mere rip off of the original with the “fish out of water” storyline, but the way they are incorporating the original makes up for all of that. There were tons of references to little things from the first 10 seasons all through the show that people who weren’t regular viewers may not ever catch on to, but for the original fans it was surely a treat.
By the way, Shanae Grimes was the perfect casting for Lori Laughlin’s daughter!
Hopefully Jennie Garth, and Shannen Doherty, along with Joe E. Tata stick it out for the long haul, and Tori Spelling better wake up and smell the success! I wouldn’t mind more cameos by Cory Kennedy either.
