Adam Lambert, who’s first music video for his hit single ‘Whatdya Want From Me’ premiered today, also taped an episode of Oprah set to air next Tuesday, to discuss his album, touring, and the departure of Simon Cowell from Idol after this current season.
As for if the show will survive without Cowell? Lambert thinks so. He tells the big O;
“The audience will definitely miss Simon. The contestants will miss out on, like, really honest criticism. Sometimes it can be a little personal, and I know other contestants took it to heart sometimes and got really stressed out about what he would say. [But] I think that that’s important to making you a better performer … You’ve got to hear the good and the bad.”
Sure, the show might survive for a few more seasons, but depending on his replacement, they can expect a HUGE drop in the ratings.
Lambert performed his single on the show, and will be kicking off a tour some time in 2010/2011
