Courtney Love is said to be writing a musical based on the rise to fame of Nirvana, the band fronted by her late husband, Kurt Cobain.
Love has teamed up with Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi on a concept for a new stage show telling the story of Cobain’s life, his band, and his marriage.
Hoping that the production will land on Broadway, and that she can convince Hollywood to turn it into a movie is reportedly at the top of Love’s goal list.
The New York Daily News reports that the news was broke in a Los Angeles court room, during Lutfi’s legal battle against Spears’ mother, Lynne. According to the paper, Lutfi told the jury, “(We) are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s.”
