Could this be ?   Next weeks episode of Gossip Girl was to be a flash back to the 80′s where the story of Serena’s mom Lily and Dan’s dad Rufus and their LA romance was told, setting up for the spin-off series, “Valley Girls.” Well that flashback ep will still air  next week, but reports are saying that the spin-off has been called off all together. The CW announced early season pickups for 6 series which will all be returning in fall 2009. Leader of the pack, Gossip Girl, has seen double ratings over the last season, which has earned it the go for a third season, as well as One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Supernatural, which were all also renewed. Apparently when they CW said they would not be spinning off the young love life of Lily Bass and Rufus Humphrey from Gossip Girl, they were lying. Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz and EP Stephanie Savage are now releasing the news that they will be moving forward with a spin off that follows the young Lily VanDerWoodsen as she moves out to Los Angeles with her sister and ends up meeting rockstar Rufus Humphrey at a club in Hollywood. Actress Kelly Rutherford, who plays the mother of all MILFs, Lily VanDerWoodsen on Gossip Girl, has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Daniel Giersch, this past week. Kelly is pregnant with the couples second child, they have a two year old son, Hermes. Sad!

Despite what you may have heard, Gossip Girls Leighton Meester will not be walking down the aisle any time soon.
