‘The Hobbit’ Films Official Names Released

It seems like this film just keeps getting delay after delay, and that it’s never going to come out, but Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema have reportedly registered two titles for the films, which will be shot as one and released as two, due out some time in 2012.

According to Lord of the Rings fan site TheOneRing.net, the names registered for the films are:

‘The Hobbit: there and Back Again,’ and ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’

For those of you who don’t read, and would just rather wait for the film to be released, (smarties we like to call you) ‘There and Back Again’ is used by Bilbo Baggins within the book when he chronicles his adventures in helping a band of intrepid dwarfs battle the dread dragon Smaug.

Many fans think ‘An Unexpected Journey’ will be the subtitle for the first film, going on the theme of Bilbo Baggins  being drafted into service by the dwarves and their ally Gandalf the Grey.

All of this sounds great, but they actually need to get to New Zealand and do some filming! Production has already been pushed back a couple of times due to this and that.

But hey, registering names is baby steps.  It’s better than nothing!
