Sacha Baron Cohen Addresses Oscar’s Banishment

Sacha Baron Cohen is speaking out about the controversy of him being banned from the Oscars.

Rumor had it that his invitation had been revoked as the Academy was worried about him showing up in character from his upcoming film, ‘The Dictator.’

The Academy was quick to say they had not banned him, only that they were waiting to hear what he had planned, but in a new video, in character, Baron Cohen, as General Aladeen, demands his tickets be returned by noon on Sunday.

He says, “Good morning… On behalf of the nation of Wadiya, I am outraged at being banned from the Oscars by the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences.

“While I abhor the Academy for taking away my right to free speech, I warn you that if you do not lift your sanctions and give me my tickets back by 12pm on Sunday, you will face unimaginable consequences…”

“On top of all of this, I paid Hilary Swank $2 million to be my date and she will not refund a penny. My Sunday calendar is now as empty as a North Korean grocery store… Death to the west, death to America and good luck (Oscars host) Billy Crystals (sic). You are fantastic.”

Check out the video below.   Publicity stunt?  Will he or won’t he? You know you’ll be tuning in now!

One Response to Sacha Baron Cohen Addresses Oscar’s Banishment

The Academy should pull the stick out of their ass and
lighten up.  They are in desperate need
of some added entertainment if they want anyone under the age of 60 to tune
in.  This is the shallowest and safest
group of nominations they’ve ever presented.
If the nominees seem as stuffy to you as they do to me, check out my own

will get some movie artwork I drew up as well as the reviews!
