Her latest single, Waking Up in Vegas, is about a typical night full of debauchery that one may experience on a trip to Sin City, and Katy Perry knows from experience!
No, she didn’t have a quickie wedding with a childhood pal after a night of drinking and drugs that had to be anulled after just 55 hours, but she did go through all the motions of a Vegas wedding to fool her family and friends.
In a recent interview, Katy claims; “We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate. We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time [and] totally freaked the s— out of them.”
Katy was previously dating Gym Class Hero’s front man Travis McCoy, and after a breif split, the couple has recently rekindled their romance.
