With the midnight release of “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” tomorrow, the Harry Potter franchise is expected to surpass the James Bond franchise’s total earnings.
So far the 007 films have raked in a total of roughly $5 billion over the years, while the Harry Potter films have totaled about $4.48 billion. The release of the sixth installment of the Harry Potter movies is expected to blow their earnings past the $5 billion mark and top James Bond as the highest earning franchise in history.
While I personally would rather see Daniel Craig emerge from the ocean in a speedo than Daniel Radcliffe, something must be said about the draw of Hogwarts.
